2 months later and prices are still fucking shit. People literally giving up PC gaming cause they cant afford a graphics card. A fuckign 1060 a BUDGET DARD is nearly $400

  3. hvd iv says:

um its not hard to see data mining and pubg is the reason for shortages.

data miners need gpus and ram for a mining pc.

pubg caused a lot of Chinese to build pc's which use gpus and ram.

the answer is simple make more.

  4. Victor B says:

Why did Chinese users increase from 6% to 63% in just 2 years? What caused this suddenly influx on Steam?

  5. AVLRECORDS says:

This happens because they want you to buy titan v

  6. Alterius Zhang says:

I literally can't replace my 1070 right now. It's now $1000, up from 350 dollars from when i got it.

  7. Ruben Nunez says:

Did u know Nvidia does sell the Founders Edition GPU's at MSRP limit 2 per customer, GTX 1060 and up only. If u cant wait for Prices to stabalize this is an option. Perhaps Nvidia AI forseen this in the past and now makes sense to why they decided to sell cards. AMD next?

  8. Antony Robson says:

Reviews are now redundant. Whats the point?

  9. Pungkoy says:

its been 3 months since a built my ryzen system still dont have a GPU yet couz of this crazy prices :((

  10. Amaury Fages says:

We mostly forget you can buy everything but the highest GPU without impacting much the future and buy the fresh new 20xx GPU when it's released. Buy everything but GPU higher than 1600 is possible, if you really need too. Intel or even Ryzen will be plenty enough for future. CPU's are far overtuned for current market but people are still geting into gaining 2% FPS with upgrades.

  11. David Poulton says:

Would you recommend the AMD Pro 7100 for $600 since I'm a video producer? It's a 2016 workstation graphic card with 8GB of ddr5 ram. I was thinking about getting Vega 64 but the price jumped like a boxing kangaroo and same with NVIDIA GTX 1070-1080 along with the latest quadro graphic cards. I feel like I'm being punched in the face with these prices.

  12. paul Z says:

I want to see a video of Steve and Brian playing mortal kombat

  13. Willi M says:

but if money doesnt matter, I mean people dont give any f* if the card costs 800€ or 1000€. It simply doesnt matter πŸ™‚

  14. Jacob Melone says:

Thankfully, Nvidia is starting to take steps to prevent Miners from buying their Cards. Idk how successful it will be in the long run

I think the chinese are getting revenge for us making their companies mostly make our products

  18. Lars Passic says:

When the Ryzen 5 2400G Congress out in a few days, it will likely be the best way to buy a starter gaming rig.

  19. RyNz _ says:

So, miners have to pay taxes on income. what's that gonna look like when the government audits everyone who cashed out. What if it becomes a huge deal! We get are cards back and everyone else go's in to debt and prison. But realistically though… I wander how many small miners who make any kind of money actually know they have to pay taxes on it? I wander how much you would have to make before the government notices you?

  24. Nityanand Saswade says:

Let me keep this situation straight.

We made a mistake by making only china a monopoly in manufacturing mass semiconductor and processors.

They have hands in our pockets now they control over prices.

  25. Fluttershy .Windwing says:

it is already too late for me lol i forgot to get a gpu in December so i got screwed. also love yer accent

  26. Happy and single says:

Just go on eBay these expensive graphics cards will cost less. These expensive graphics cards will become cheaper when better ones come out.

  27. Jessica Severin says:

Thanks for a fantastic overview Steve. The historical price chart is gold for me. I was hoping to upgrade from my 2013 GTX660 (paid ~$200) to a similar $200-280 card in 2018, but now it looks like the only cards likely in that price range are GTX1050 and RX560 which are approximately the same performance level as my GTX660! Wow 5years and same price/performance. Sure hope the RX580 and GTX1060 fall back to ~MSRP (<$300) range this year otherwise another year of the GTX660.

  28. Dyllan says:

Just bought a 1070 zotac mini for 599aud good price or no?

  31. Doraemon112 m says:

What would the big scale crypto-currency miners owning like 30000-400000 GPUs would do with there GPUs ? if someday the prices of all the Digital assets fall i just don't understand .
let say they re-sale the gpus in future at low value will it not affect nvidia or Amd in future ?

  32. Edmundo studios says:

RIP PC gaming. I hope you can respawn soon.

  33. JR says:

If you really need a PC just get a prebuilt one. They offer really good value over picking your own parts at this time.

  34. GiSWiG says:

I was just at my local Best Buy last night. The FE geforce 1070 was cheaper than the RX 570. WTH

  35. Ludak021 says:

Consumers are too picky. Get those 1050Tis and rx 560, there are a plenty. ")

  36. Jessamyn Panza says:

    This was very informative thanks.

  37. Jack says:

so at the end of the days if u dont want to wait to play the new game, buy a ps4 or xbox1 and fuck the over price shit storm on pc. over here in canada a ps4 1t bundle cost 500 bucks it included tax + playstation network annual fees about the same price as a 1060 3g. for fuck sake I ain't building shit at this price until it drop back to acceptable range.for the main time just game on console.

  38. Red Phoenix says:

@5:12 Strange, on German shores the GTX 1060 with 6 GB is ~ €350.

  39. Ranch says:

its a bad idea if ur a cheap fuck

  40. Pedro Fonseca says:

will this be over by the end of 2018?

  41. BJ White says:

Im looking to build a new pc to replace this GTX580 I7 2600 machine. I really want a 1070 ti but I think i might be much better off going with a 1060 6GB instead of a $300 dearer 1070 ti. The 1070 is a lot better, but gee its not twice as good and that's almost the value trade-off there. Will I be ok with a 1060 for a while given I only game at 1080p and my systems usually last me 5-6 yrs? For instance my previous PC rocks a 9800 GPU.
By getting a 1060 I could spend the savings on a 500GB PCIe M.2 Samsung EVO which looks like a HUGEly better performance upgrade for the cash saved by buying a GTX 1060. I justw ant my gaming pc to last like my other previous builds.

  42. Matt Christie says:

Looks like Steve has all the GPU's! LOL!

  43. FN LN says:

    My budget/spare build last year:

    G4560 $65
    ASUS 1151 DDR3 MB $50
Corsair Teal Spec Alpha (Frys) $20 ar
    8GB DDR3L $30
    120GB ADATA SSD $30
    WD 1TB 7200 $35
    RX 470 4gb $130 ar

    TOTAL: $360

  44. Alex Hutchins says:

Well you can build everything but the graphics card. I just made a computer. Intel i7 8700k 16 gb ram 500 gig solid state drive. Corsair water cooler. Nzxt 350 mid tower case.

  45. FantasyFan says:

The one time in my life where I'd recommend a pre built PC over building your own.

  46. Matt Hunter says:

darn the GTX 970s are going for $280 and up glad i bought a pile of them when they were around 160-180 used lol i have 3 sli systems that rock with them .
